My family has always loved books. When my daughter was born, she was surrounded by stories from day one — grandparents, aunts, uncles, everyone who visited arrived with a book in hand.

She grew up being read to, and we treasured every moment of it.

But I wished for more

As much as we loved our bookshelf, there were moments I found myself searching for something that didn't quite exist — a story where the main character was going through exactly what my daughter was going through
